The Workforce Development Global Alliance (WDGA), an international not-for-profit youth organization, launches a global 2Steps2WORK campaign.
The recent collapses of the financial and auto industries have made it clear that corporations have a responsibility to the youth of the world – not only to grow the economy, but to ensure employability as well. Children see firsthand the struggles their parents face in the current economic recession and are asking themselves, will staying in school or going to college be enough?
Our WDGA ‘Youth Peace Ambassadors’ are asking global corporations, small businesses, and individuals about the steps they are taking to build a competitive workforce and grow the economy in the U.S. and throughout the world.
Our WDGA 2Steps2Work campaign launches during the 2009 ‘G-20 Economic Summit’ in the City of Pittsburgh PA. with a series of youth-oriented events starting on September 23-26, 2009.
On Wednesday, September 23, 2009, the WDGA Youth Economic Summit Roundtable (G-20 YES) will discuss the impact of the global economy on today’s youth (ages 13 to 25) and their concerns for their future employability. As part of WDGA’s 2Step’s2WORK global campaign, the G-20 YES Roundtable ‘Tweetup’ and Webcast will include online questions from twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
This groundbreaking ‘Tweetup’ will address the steps needed to grow the economy and to provide the education and training necessary to prepare the workforce of tomorrow, our youth. The ‘G-20 YES’ Roundtable attendees include international political leaders, corporate executives, celebrities, sports figures, media representatives, and the WDGA Youth Peace Ambassadors. The ‘G-20 YES’ roundtables are sponsored by the attendees and global companies who wish to support the WDGA 2Steps2Work campaign.
